Storm prep is for members. Before a named storm reaches 30A, we notify you and prep the outside of your house the way you want it. After it passes, you get photos of the home by email. Included on Coastal Elite, $100 on Essential and Home Watch.
Before landfall
Storm prep
- Bring in or tie down patio furniture, grills, planters and anything the wind can move
- Close storm shutters if the home has them: roll-down, accordion, Bermuda or bolt-on panels
- Confirm doors, windows and the garage are shut and latched
- Photograph the outside of the home, so you have a dated before picture
After it passes
Photo check
- Walk the home inside and out once roads are open and it is safe to go
- Photograph every side of the house, the roof line from the ground, and any water inside
- Email you the photos with a short written note on what was found
- If something needs fixing, point you to a licensed contractor. We do not do repairs

Who can get a Storm Check?
Members only. Storm prep and after-storm checks are part of our home watch plans, so we already have your keys, codes and the location of your shutters before a storm ever shows up. We do not take storm requests from homes that are not on a plan.
What does it cost?
Included on Coastal Elite. On Essential and Home Watch it is a $100 member rate for prep, $100 for the after-storm check, or $175 for both. Freeze checks are included on every plan.
Is there a deadline to book?
Yes. When a storm is headed for 30A we notify every member with a cutoff, usually about 48 hours before tropical-storm-force winds. Book before it so we can get to every home in time. Once the storm arrives we are not on call: the team has to be free to evacuate safely too, so the house has to be ready ahead of time.
Do I need to be in town?
No. Storm Check is built for owners who are somewhere else when a storm is coming. Everything is confirmed by text or email and the photos come to your inbox.
When do you go out?
When a named storm is headed for 30A, we notify every member by text or email with the booking cutoff. Prep visits happen before the cutoff passes. The photo check happens after the storm passes, once roads are open and it is safe to be out.
Will you fix storm damage?
No. Storm Check is prep before and photos after. If something is damaged, you get the photos and the name of a licensed contractor, and you decide what happens next.
Can the photos help with an insurance claim?
They give you a dated record of what the home looked like before and after the storm, which you can share with your agent or adjuster. We are not insurance agents or adjusters and cannot tell you what your policy covers.
Which areas does Storm Check cover?
Watersound Origins, Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, Inlet Beach, Naturewalk, Seacrest and the rest of scenic 30A, the same area as our home watch plans.
